Tasks

Tasks is a simple to-do list that lives in your mailbox, so it is the same in the web app and on your phone. Add something you need to do, give it a due date and a priority, and tick it off when it's done. Messages you flag in Mail show up here too.

Open it with Tasks in the app rail, or press Ctrl+Shift+L.

Views

The list on the left shows your tasks in different ways:

ViewShows
My DayTasks you picked for today.
ImportantTasks with high priority.
PlannedTasks with a due date.
Assigned to meTasks someone else assigned to you.
Flagged emailMessages you flagged in Mail.
TasksAll your tasks.
ListsLists you created.

Tasks are grouped by when they're due: Overdue, Today, This Week, Later and No due date, with Completed tasks at the end. Grid shows them as a table with Title, Due Date and Importance columns instead; List goes back.

Add a task

  1. Type the task in Add a task at the top (or press Alt+N to jump there).
  2. Optionally pick a Due date and a Priority: Low, Normal or High.
  3. Click Add.

A task added here goes into Tasks, not into the list or My Day you're looking at.

To add a task with more detail, use Calendar: click + New event, choose the Task tab, and click More options. There you can also set a due time, pick a Task list, add Notes, a reminder (Add reminder) and Add to My Day.

A task's details can't be changed after it is created yet. Delete it and add it again if you need to.

Complete or delete tasks

  • Click the circle next to a task to mark it complete. Click it again to undo.
  • Click × on a task, or tick several and click Delete, then confirm.
  • Tick several tasks to Complete them or Add to My Day all at once.

Lists

Click + next to Lists, type a name and click Add. Lists can't be renamed or deleted in the web app yet.

Flagged email

Flag a message in Mail (More actions > Flag, or press Insert) and it appears under Flagged email with its subject, sender and date. Unflag it in Mail when you're done.
